Buttons Challenge!!

Hi!  I used buttons on the back of a mini envelope and some twine to hold the envelope closed for my button challenge card.  I started my card base with the Scor-Pal and colored my Tulle Skirt Tilda with prismacolor pencils.  I then used my Grand Calibur to cut the oval and Doohickey lace and leaf dies.  I used my cricut to make the flowers and the scalloped oval.  I finished this card off with some stitching and distress inks.  Hope you link up your button card and play along!  : )

It's all about the buttons

It's my turn to host this challenge and it's all about the buttons.  Big buttons, little buttons, shank buttons, yellow buttons or green buttons; drag them out and slap them on.

My card was all about the paper and the StampingScrapping Design stamp which takes center stage.  I didn't even use Copics.  Shocked, are you?  Yeah, me too.  I can't remember the last time I didn't use Copics.  It was probably before I bought my Copics.  I layered the K & Company double-sided paper on top of my 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" kraft paper and sewed around the edge.  I added the corner flourish and shaped my flowers using the McGill Flower tools.  The buttons were sewn in the center of each flower and the stamped oval frame and sentiment were adhered in the center.  It's clean and simple and was quick to finish.

You have lots of time to enter this challenge, so please, join us and let's see your art.
Paper: Kraft, K & Company, Bazzill; Stamps: StampingScrapping Design Beaded Ovals; Spellbinder Classic Ovals Large; McGill Punches: Star Flower, Floriano; Sizzix Corner, Flourish #2.  For more information, please see my blog:  bluebirdflats.blogspot.com

Tilda Frame

This is the 'uncard' that I sent to a co-worker for her birthday.  We haven't seen each other in ages but she sent me the nicest birthday present this year.  The worst thing about retirement is all the people you don't work with anymore.  And the best thing about retirement is some of the people you don't have to work with anymore.  I miss more than I disliked, though.  This little box was fun to make once I worked out the dimensions.  It's really just a box.  I picked my 5.5" x 5.5" inside square.  I put that square down on a 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock and outlined it.  Then I scored 1/2" away from the outline all the way around.  I scored another line 1/4" all the way around and cut out the box on this line.  I folded up the 1/2" and folded over the 1/4" which gave me a surface to glue my frame to.  The frame was punched with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch cut 6.75" x 6.75".  I put my 5.5" x 5.5" square on the back of the frame and outlined it.  Then I used a ruler to cut out the window 1/4" smaller and assembled.  The new Tim Holtz small easel was perfect on the back.  You can fold it down for shipping and your recipient can stand it up when they receive it.  Hopefully she'll keep it up for a while.  I usually send her something with Elvis on it, she'll certainly be surprised to see Tilda.

Anything Goes

Today is my day, Stephanie, to share my creation with you.
006 (Small)
For my images I chose to create a scene. I masked the swing and Tilda with ribbon. The summer background was done by airbrushing using Copics, my airbrush system and Windstorm compressor. The birds were added individually and I added dimension. The happy birthday hearts sentiment is by Bildmalarna.
If you’d like to see more pictures and the list of Copics used come on over to my blog and check it out.
We have a great and easy challenge for you this time so why not ink up a Maggie and come on back and join in? You never know, you may become the winner of a gift certificate to www.stampingscrapping.com!
