Santa's Little Helper

Hi, it's Mindy and it's my turn to post my Magnolia punch project. I have used this adorable stamp from Magnolia's collection last Christmas called Santa's Little Helper. I think this stamp is so cute! If you don't have one hurry and grab one, Cindy only has 2 left!!!

I have used 2 different Martha Stewart punches on this project. On the side I used the holly leaf border punch and for the strip Tilda is sitting on, I used the snowflake set. The paper I used is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.

MSL Punch it Up - Cindy's take

I've been hoarding these punches since I bought them. Even tho the flower looks complicated, they're very easy to make. You can get the tools for shaping these petals or you can use your own stylus, however, the tweezers in the kit are wonderful for shaping. It's as easy as rolling a stylus all over the petal to break down the fibers, using the tweezers to put a crease in the petal, using the tweezers to bend the edges of the petal backwards and you're done. I used very heavy card stock which holds it's shape really well. I stamped the outside paper with some Studio G clear stamps, I printed "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and punched a tag out of the printed copy (remember, if you print copy, it doesn't have to be in black, you can use a Copic RGB chart to pick a color that matches your Copics.) The inside paper is from DCWV.

I love the new 0000 copic colors, especially for cards where the image is not the focal point.

The Starburst center was inked with embossing ink, covered with fine gold embossing powder and heat embossed. When you shape your petals, turn some of them upside down so they don't all face the same direction when you assemble them. They'll look more natural if they don't.

Paper: DCWV The Paper Stack, Beckett Radiance; Stamps: Studio G, Magnolia Star Tilda; Punches: McGill Star Lily, Crystal, Birch Leaf, Starburst; Spica: Gold, Clear; Copics: [Skin E00, E01, R20][Hair YR23, Y21, YR31][Star: E55, Y28][Clothes R0000, R000, R00]. A Tim Holtz die "Ornate" was used to cut the front of the card. I really like these dies - you can cut two different borders from each one, depending on which side of the die you place on the edge.

Cindy's take on the sketch

Sketches are such fun to do - most of the decision making is taken out of your hands. Instead of piling on the design elements, moving them, turning them upside down, adding, subtracting, changing...you just put it together using the picture as your guide. Easy Peasy. I moved a couple of the elements into different spots, but all the parts are from the sketch. If you'd like more information about the card, please see my blog.

Paper: My Mind's Eye Sweet Dreams; Stamp: Magnolia Holly Letter; Kaiser Craft Red Pearls; Cindy doesn't currently have the Holly Letter in stock, but if you e-mail her, I'm sure she can get it for you. The scroll was a digi stamp I found on the internet and I distressed my edges with my Zutter Distrezz-it-all which makes distressing a breeze.

And don't forget to check out the Spellbinder's Blog Hop starting tomorrow...

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!

Fun sketch, don't you think? For my card, I chose Sweet Tilda, and with my Copics I colored her in traditional Christmas colors, making my second Christmas card for the season. Go me..again! Spellbinders Labels Four and Labels Fourteen were used to cut and mat Sweet Tilda. My sentiment is from SSD Lacey Accents, which I also cut with Labels Four. If you haven't had a chance to try these gorgeous stamps of Cindy's, now is the time. There is a greeting for almost every holiday!

My design papers are from Basic Grey... I embossed the yellow piece one with sizzix template on my big shot.

Flowers I colored with light orange copic all around the petals and I added brown half adhesive pearls.

Cindy's Purple and Black Challenge Entry

Doesn't Bridesmaid Tilda look for all the world like she's getting ready to throw money into the wishing well to make a wish? Perhaps she wishes for a Prince Charming. Or just better grades in school. The background on this card was airbrushed using the Windstorm Copic Air Compressor which is available at Cindy's store. The base card is black.

Paper: Stash; Stamps: Magnolia Bridesmaid, Imag-e-nation Digi Wishing Well, Stampin' Up sentiment; Prima Flowers; for copic colors, please see my blog - leave me a comment and let me know you stopped by.
